Domestic and other Assaults
Part VIII of the Criminal Code of Canada addresses offences against the person, including assaults, kidnapping, criminal negligence, and murder. Domestic assaults are an especially serious kind of assault, where threats or physical violence are used to cause fear, to coerce, to injure or to cause serious harm to a spouse or intimate partner. A conviction for a domestic assault can lead to serious and permanent obstacles, including collateral consequences in family court and prejudice against your word in future domestic incidents.

Timing is critical. Securing legal counsel early can play a key role in safeguarding your family, your record, and your future.
